My name is Robbie, and I am the founder and solo developer behind World of Drift. My journey into game development is built on two decades of passion. With over 13 years of professional experience in Unreal Engine, I've always been obsessed with creating realistic, immersive worlds.

At the same time, as a lifelong fan of sim racing and drift culture, I felt there was a game that was missing—one that combined uncompromising physics with the creative tools and community focus of modern gaming. In 2023, I decided to build it myself. World of Drift is the culmination of that passion: a project built on professional experience and a deep love for the sport.

About WOD

THE PROJECT

THE COMMUNITY

THE MIND

Most studios build behind closed doors. My garage is wide open. Being a community-driven game is my founding principle, and here's how I'm proving it:

  • Direct Access: Discord is a direct line to me and the development process. No layers of community managers. You talk, I listen.

  • Feedback That Matters: We will use dedicated channels and regular polls to get your feedback on everything from physics tweaks to future car models.

  • The Inner Circle: We're building a relationship with real-world drift champions and pro sim drivers, bringing their expertise into our testing to ensure authenticity.

Your voice is my most valuable development tool. I'm not just building a game for you; I'm building it with you.

Every great drift car must answer three questions. My development is built around perfecting the answers.

  • How does it feel? The 'feel' comes first. I am obsessed with creating a hyper-realistic physics model where you can sense the weight, feel the grip, and fight the car for control. This is a simulation, not an arcade game.

  • How does it look? The 'look' is born from over a decade of professional experience in 3D architectural visualization. Every car, every track, and every ray of light is crafted to create a world that is not just realistic, but immersive and beautiful.

  • How does it sound? The 'sound' is the soul of the machine. My commitment is to authentic audio—making every engine roar, every tire scream, every turbo flutter and every backfire with the energy and violence of real-world drifting.
